DHI Hair Transplant Methods
DHI Hair Transplant
Hair loss is a common problem that many people have throughout the world. The most effective treatment for hair loss or balding issues is to have a hair transplant. There are several methods that can be applied in hair transplant operations, and the DHI method is one of them.
The DHI method, which stands for Direct Hair Implantation, is the most advanced hair transplantation method up to date. It has many advantages compared to other hair transplantation methods such as the FUT and FUE. The DHI method allows surgeons to pick individual hair follicles and extract them without damaging the patient’s scalp. It also eliminates the necessity of opening canals in the recipient area.
The surgeons normally open these canals to place the donor follicles in the FUT and FUE methods. However, with the tool that is used in the DHI method, which is called Choi Implanter Pen, follicles can be directly implanted into the scalp. That is why this method is called Direct Hair Implantation.
Three Stages of the DHI method
Hair transplantation operations with the DHI method consists of three stages. The first stage is the collection stage, where the surgeons individually pick and extract follicles to be used in the recipient area. This stage is performed with a device called micro motor, similar to the FUE method.
With the help of this device, surgeons pick follicles from the patient’s donor area, which is usually the nape area. The reason why surgeons pick the nape area as the donor area is that the hair located in this area does not fall out. This feature makes them perfectly suitable for hair transplantation.
The second stage is the arrangement stage. This is the stage that makes the DHI method differ from the other transplantation methods. In this stage, the staff members carefully place the hair follicles into the Choi Implanter Pen. The time that the donor follicles spend outside of the patient’s scalp is reduced significantly during this stage. This greatly improves their chance of survival of the donor grafts.
The last stage is, of course, the plantation stage. In this stage, surgeons directly implant the hair follicles with the use of Choi Implanter Pen.

DHI Hair Transplantation Costs
Costs of these kinds of operations can differ from patient to patient. There are multiple factors at play that affect the price of a hair transplantation operation.
Aside from the travel and accommodation costs, the most determining factor is how much hair the patient wants to be transplanted. This can greatly increase or decrease prices.
As we have mentioned above, how much hair, or how many grafts, you want transplanted is an important factor. But the number of grafts that must be transplanted also depends on several factors.
If you have excessive hair loss, then more grafts will be needed to cover the balding area on your head. So, your hair loss type and its severity will increase the prices.
Another factor is the availability of your donor grafts. If you don’t have enough grafts on your nape area, then the surgeons will have to use other hair located on your body. Using chest hair, for instance, for transplantation is a difficult process. So, this can affect the prices negatively for you.
The quality of your available grafts is also quite important. Grafts can contain up to 4 hair follicles within them. If there are more hair follicles in each graft, this means that those grafts have higher quality. If the quality of your grafts is high, then the number of grafts required to cover your balding area will be significantly lowered.
You can contact us if you want more information about the prices.
The Difference Between the DHI and the FUE Methods
The DHI and the FUE methods are very similar fundamentally. But it is safe to say that the DHI method is the more advanced version of the FUE method. The reason why we say so is the DHI method doesn’t require the surgeons to open canals on the patient’s recipient area. In the FUE method, surgeons begin the canal opening phase after extracting the donor grafts. They open tiny holes in the patient’s recipient area using small blades.
During the canal opening phase, the donor grafts are kept in special containers. The longer the grafts are kept, the lower their chance of survival gets. In the DHI method, however, while the surgeon extracts the grafts, his or her assistants place the extracted ones into the Choi Implanter Pens. The surgeon then can immediately plant the grafts into the patient’s recipient area.
DHI Hair Transplant Results
The DHI method provides patients with the best possible results. The Choi Pen allows surgeons to make small adjustments while planting the donor grafts. The surgeons can perform accurate, precise and effective transplants using the Choi Pens. This provides patients with very natural-looking results.
We have already mentioned that the DHI method shortens the time grafts spend outside of the scalp. This is very important for their survival as they expire when kept outside for too long. The higher survival rate means that more grafts can be planted without being expired. This will provide denser and more natural-looking results for patients.
Seeing the results of hair transplantation operations require a lot of patience. Patients can start to see their results after 6 months from the operation. But seeing the complete results will take at least a year. After a year, your new hair will reach the length of your current hair, and they will be inseparable. But you have to treat your head and your hair carefully during this period in order to get the best results. If you damage your grafts in any way, they might fall out, affecting your results badly.
Advantages of the DHI Method
There are many advantages to the DHI method compared to other hair transplantation methods. This is why the DHI method is considered as the most advanced hair transplantation method. As we have mentioned before, there is no need for opening canals in the DHI method. Surgeons can directly plant donor grafts with the Choi Pen. This also greatly reduces the bleeding that may occur during the operation. It also shortens the healing period significantly. You can return to your normal look back in no time.
We have also mentioned that the DHI method reduces the time that the donor grafts spend outside of the patient’s scalp. This greatly increases the survival rate of the donor grafts, providing denser and more natural-looking results.
One of the biggest advantages of the DHI method is that the operations with this method can be completed without the need for shaving the patient’s hair. That is one of the most important factors why patients prefer the DHI method over the other hair transplantation methods.
The Choi Pen, which is the tool that the surgeons use in the DHI method, allows surgeons to make small adjustments during plantation. These adjustments can range from the angle of the grafts to the depth of the implants. With these small adjustments, the surgeon can work around the patient’s scalp more precisely. This also provides more natural-looking results.
Disadvantages of the DHI Method
But there are some disadvantages of the DHI method. We should state that it is more sophisticated compared to other hair transplantation methods. This makes it a difficult and demanding task for the surgeons who are performing it. All the disadvantages we will now list are related to its being a very difficult method to implement.
Operations with the DHI method take significantly more time to perform. Compared to the FUE method, operations with the DHI method take almost twice as long. This is why DHI operations are divided into two sessions. This can be problematic for some candidates.
Since the DHI operations are more sophisticated, they require more caution on behalf of the surgeons. This will raise the costs of these operations. It also requires more experienced surgeons.
Adjusting the angle and the direction of the donor grafts is crucial in these operations. It directly affects how natural your result will look like. But it is not an easy task.
All these factors show that implementing the DHI method requires expertise and experience. These factors cause the DHI prices to be higher compared to other hair transplantation methods.
Frequently Asked Questions About the DHI Method
Q: Does DHI hair transplant hurt?
A: Like in all other hair transplant operations, surgeons apply local anaesthesia to the patient’s recipient and donor areas before starting the DHI hair transplantation. Anaesthesia eliminates any pain or discomfort the patient might experience during the operation. In short, DHI hair transplant doesn’t hurt at all.
Q: Do I have to take any precautions before my DHI operation?
A: Avoid taking blood thinners for at least a week prior to your operation to prevent bleeding. You don’t have to take any other precautions.
Q: Will my head bleed a lot during the operation?
A: Bleeding is minimal in the DHI operations, especially compared to the FUT method.
Q: Will I have any permanent scars on my head?
A: The operations with the DHI method leave no marks or scars on the patient’s recipient and donor areas.
Q: Do I have to take medication after the operation?
A: Patients are prescribed with painkillers and antibiotics to reduce the pain and to prevent inflammation.
FUE Hair Transplant Methods
FUE Hair Transplant
FUE hair transplant is one of the most popular hair transplantation methods that is being used throughout the world. Its popularity comes from the fact that hair transplantations with the FUE method provide patients with permanent and natural-looking results.
The FUE method can be seen as a more advanced form of the older FUT method. In the operations with the older FUT method, surgeons cut a slit out of the patient’s donor area and stitch it back. As you might imagine, operations with the FUT method is kind of “surgical”. This is not the case for the FUE method.
The FUE method, which stands for Follicular Unit Extraction, allows plastic surgeons to pick and extract grafts without damaging the patient’s scalp. The surgeons are able to do this with the help of a special tool called “micromotor”. Grafts, which contain multiple hair follicles, can be individually extracted by the surgeons, and then put into small containers for use. This eliminates the need for stitching and provides patients with a more pleasant experience.
After the extraction phase is complete, the surgeons then start the canal opening phase. In the canal opening phase, the surgeons cut tiny holes in the patient’s recipient area. They do this with the help of special small blades. Then they place the extracted donor grafts, which are being kept in special containers, into these canals and complete the operation.
Thanks to the FUE method, the patients can now have natural-looking hair with minimal pain and faster recovery times.
Ice FUE Hair Transplant
There are a number of different FUE implementations that have various advantages. One of these implementations is the Ice FUE method. An Ice FUE hair transplant is identical to a traditional FUE method in terms of harvesting and implanting procedures. However, the difference of the Ice FUE method is in this method; each graft is kept in a special solution that freezes the grafts during the canal opening phase. This enhances the grafts’ chance of survival, which is very important for a successful transplant.
The operation begins with the application of local anaesthesia to the patient’s donor and recipient areas. This eliminates any pain or discomfort the patient may experience during the operation. Once the anaesthesia starts to show its effect, the surgeons begin the operation by extracting the healthy donor grafts. They extract these grafts from the patient’s donor area, which is usually located in the nape area.
After harvesting the donor grafts, the surgeon’s assistants place the grafts into small containers. These containers are filled with the special IceGraft solution that freezes the grafts. This special solution is used only on the Ice FUE procedures. It is a mixture of several antioxidants and vitamins that protect and strengthen the hair follicles. The content of this mixture keeps donor grafts at an optimal condition by balancing their pH levels. This solution also acts as a coolant. It brings down the temperature of the follicles, thus prevents inflammation.
Once the harvesting phase is complete, the surgeons then open canals in the patient’s recipient area. They carefully place the grafts, which are kept in the IceGraft solution, into these small canals and finish the operation.
The IceGraft solution significantly increases the survival chance of the grafts. This will positively affect your results.
Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant
Another implementation of the classic FUE method is the Sapphire FUE method. This method utilizes more advanced pieces of equipment that are made of natural sapphires. That is the reason why it is called the Sapphire FUE method.
There are several advantages of using equipment made from sapphire in hair transplant operations. Finely crafted sapphire blades are more soothing for the patient’s scalp. They significantly reduce the damage scalp tissue takes during the operations. It also shortens the healing period greatly and provides patients with more natural-looking results.
As the demand for hair transplants increases, researchers develop new tools and techniques for the operations. One of the most recent techniques that the researchers came up with is the Sapphire FUE method.
This procedure is identical to the normal FUE procedures. The only difference is that the surgeons use tools that are made from sapphire in these operations. As we have mentioned before, the surgeons open canals on the patient’s recipient area to place the grafts in FUE operations. Using equipment made of sapphire during this procedure is proven to be better for the patient’s skin.
Sapphire equipment minimizes the damage that may occur in the recipient area. Thanks to this, the healing period after these operations is much faster. Minimal damage also means minimal bleeding. This can be a big plus for some patients. It also reduces the chance of inflammation and infection greatly.
The success of the regular FUE method is known in the industry. Sapphire FUE method takes this success further and provides patients with the hair they always wanted. For a small extra fee, you can have a more pleasant operation and get even better results.
FUE Hair Transplant in Turkey
If you are seeking an effective way to tackle your hair loss problems, an FUE hair transplant can be a permanent solution for you. The modern Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique is an improvement to older hair transplant methods such as the FUT technique.
A successful and effective FUE hair transplant is within your arm’s reach here at Gold City Hair. As the Gold City Hair family, we are dedicated to implementing the best techniques for our clients. You can feel safe at the hands of our surgeons, who are experts in the industry.
The field of hair transplantation in Turkey is growing every day. Turkey is one of the industry leaders in this field. Around 60.000 patients come to Turkey to have a hair transplant every year. But what makes Turkey so attractive for the hair transplant candidates?
One of the major factors why so many people prefer to have their transplants in Turkey is the prices. Hair transplant prices in Turkey cost a fragment of the UK and US prices. The gap in the prices allows patients to come to Turkey, have an operation and visit Turkey’s touristic spots, and some money on top of all these.
But the low prices don’t necessarily mean lower quality. On the contrary, Turkey is a country that has the highest numbers of JCI approved health institutions after the USA.
The reason why the hair transplant prices cost lower is linked with the value of Turkish Lira. The value of Turkish Lira is lower compared to the US dollar and UK pound. This impacts the prices of hair transplant operations.
FUE Hair Transplant Results
Most patients want to see their results after the hair transplant operation. This is quite understandable. Patients invest their time and money into this operation and want to see its benefits. But seeing the results require patience in hair transplantation operations.
To paint you a better picture, we should first inform you about the healing period so that you know what to expect after having a transplant.
Your scalp will be quite sensitive after your hair transplant surgery. You will have to wear a bandage for a few days. This bandage will protect your scalp from damage and infection.
The recipient and donor areas on your head will scab over after the operation. This may cause some itching, but you must resist the urge to itch your head. Itching your scalp will seriously damage your transplant and cause them to fall out.
The doctors will ask you to return to the clinic within 2 or 3 days after the operation, depending on the case. You should be extremely careful during these couple of days as your transplant will not have completely attached to your scalp yet. Furthermore, you will have your first head wash once you return after the given time. You will feel quite relieved as the scabs over your head will go away after your head wash. The assistants then will inform you on how to wash your head. They will recommend you some special lotions and shampoos. You should use these products as they will help you during your healing period.
We should also mention that the doctors will prescribe you some painkillers to ease your pain and antibiotics to prevent inflammation.
Your scalp will have completely healed within two weeks. But these two weeks are very important. Any misstep may cause your transplants to fall out, affecting your results negatively. There are some things that you should avoid during this period.
Drinking alcohol and smoking can negatively affect your results. You should definitely avoid consuming these substances. You should also avoid heavy psychical activities such as lifting heavy objects, working out, running, or even having sex. Too much psychical activity puts pressure on your head. This can cause your transplants to pop out. You should also avoid the sunlight during the first few days.
Once the healing period is over, you can return to your normal life. All you have to do is to wait for your results now. But there is one more thing that you should be aware, and that is the shock hair loss period. Every patient who has a hair transplant experience a period in which their newly transplanted hair starts to fall out. This is called shock loss and is completely normal.
The shock loss period starts 1 to 3 months after the operation. This may cause some panic, but it is an expected period. It generally lasts for about 2 weeks.
During shock loss period, newly transplanted follicles go into a “sleep” phase, in which adapt to their new environment. After this period, your new hair will start to grow stronger than ever.
Your new hair will start to grow 1 or 2 months after the shock loss period. Most likely, it will be curly and thin at first, but they get stronger in time. Your hair will be completely visible after 6 months. Some strands may appear weaker compared to others, but this is quite normal. They will get thicker and eventually will be inseparable from the others. After the 10th month, your hair will be thickened and will look natural. Nevertheless, seeing the complete results will take a year.
You will have to be patient and very cautious at the same time to see the results of your operation. But thanks to the advanced FUE method, you can have very natural-looking hair for the rest of your life.
Risks and Side Effects of FUE Hair Transplant
Hair transplant procedures are operations that require expertise and caution. Although they are completely safe, the patients may experience some side effects during and after the operation. These side effects are considered normal. However, there are some precautions that you can take before and after in order to lessen their severity.
One of the potential side effects is that your recipient and donor areas might catch infection after the operation. This can be problematic; however, it is avoidable. If you regularly use the medications that your doctor prescribes after the operation, you can reduce this risk significantly. You will also be prescribed anti-inflammatory medications to prevent any inflammation that might occur in your recipient area.
The patients may experience scalp pain as well as itching and swelling on their scalp. You must resist the urge to itch your head. Otherwise, you will detach your transplants by itching them and cause them to fall out. This will impact your results negatively. Your itching will be relieved after the first head wash session. You can use the painkillers that your doctor will prescribe you to ease the pain.
Some bleeding may occur during and after the operation. You should stop taking blood-thinning medications for at least a week prior to the operation if you are using one. Your doctor will inform you about what steps to take if and when your recipient area starts to bleed during the healing period.
Another possible side effect is the loss of sensation around the donor and recipient areas. Any numbness that you might feel will go away within a week. But in some rare cases, the loss of sensation lasts up to 2 months. Permanent loss of sensation is extremely rare and almost never happens.
The shock loss period can be considered as another side effect. During the shock loss period, your newly transplanted hair will start to fall out for a period of approximately 2 weeks. This period starts 1 or 2 months after the operation and is completely normal.
Your newly transplanted hair follicles go into a kind of “sleep mode” during this period. They require some time to adapt to their new environment. Once the shock loss period is over, your hair can start to grow normally. It is important to note that the severity of the hair loss during this period can differ depending on the patient.
There are several precautions you can take during this period in order to ensure the growth of your hair in a healthier fashion. Following a healthy and balanced diet is one of these precautions. Eating food with plenty of vitamin and protein content instead of fast foods or other kinds of oily foods can help immensely. You should also keep yourself hydrated. Drinking beverages with alcohol and caffeine-containing and smoking can damage your follicles. Avoiding these would be beneficial. You should also keep using the hair care products that your doctor recommends.
Another risk is the issue of continuing hair loss. Some patients want to have a hair transplant before their hair loss comes to a complete stop. In these cases, the patients’ hair loss continues after the operation, leading to an unnatural appearance. This issue can be tackled with a careful planning phase prior to the operation. We, as the Gold City Hair family, know how important planning is in hair transplant operations and how it can affect the results. Therefore, we provide you with an exclusive service regarding your own situation.
The Costs of FUE Hair Transplant Operations
To give exact numbers for the costs of FUE hair transplant operations is not possible. There are many factors that affect how much the procedure will cost. One of these factors is the technique implemented during the operation. For example, the Ice FUE and the Sapphire FUE techniques will cost more compared to the regular FUE method as these techniques are more advanced than the regular FUE.
Another determining factor is how many grafts needed to cover the balding regions. As the number of the required grafts increases, the prices increase as well. This is the major factor that determines the prices of hair transplantation operations. What makes giving exact prices complicated is that the number of grafts can be estimated only after a consultation.
The experience level of the doctor performing the procedure will also cause prices to go up. All of our doctors here at Gold City Hair are the experts in this industry. However, the best of the best will charge more for an operation.
If you choose to have extra products besides the standard medication, then you will be charged with a small fee.
It is important to note that most of the insurance companies consider hair transplantation operations as cosmetic procedures. They don’t cover the costs of these operations.
Every hair transplant procedure is unique and has to be designed according to the needs of the patients. We take into consideration what you want out of this procedure and make our plans accordingly. Please get in touch with us if you want to hear the exact price offer. We will carefully examine your case and then provide you with a detailed offer.
Frequently Asked Questions About the FUE Method
Q: How can I know whether I’m a good candidate for an FUE procedure?
A: If you are considering having an FUE hair transplant, we recommend you contact us. We can’t answer this question without examining your individual case. Factors such as the degree of hair loss, availability of donor area, quality of donor grafts, age, medical history, etc. determine whether you are a suitable candidate for an FUE procedure.
Q: How much do I have to wait to see the results?
A: You can see noticeable growth after three months from the operation. However, seeing results requires patience in the case of hair transplantation operations. It can take more than a year to see your final results.
Q: How long does an FUE surgery take?
A: The length of hair transplantation operations depends on the number of grafts that are needed to cover the balding area. But to give you an idea, we can say that the FUE procedure takes up to 8 hours.
Q: Will I have to have a second hair transplant later?
A: The hair transplanted during the FUE method are permanent. They are resistant to shedding. However, if your hair loss is still in progress when you apply for a hair transplant operation or if you experience further hair loss later in your life, the non-transplanted hair may fall out. This may leave some gaps in your hair. But through careful planning, unnatural appearances can be avoided. If you want full coverage, you can have another hair transplant.
Afro Hair Transplant Methods
Afro hair transplant
Mostly African and American people with curly and wavy hair prefer this type of hair transplantation process. The people with Afro hair type is slightly different from the people with straight hair structure. Doctors try to approach curly and wavy hair more carefully with different techniques and various applications. Because the holding angles of the roots under the skin are different.
When the operation process starts, the first and the most crucial step should be analysing the size of curly hair. According to the results of this analysis before the transplantation, specialists should consider the angle of the roots under the scalp of the head. After the calculation of these angles, it is of great importance to decide on the plan within which the transplantation will continue. The planned number of grafts are crucial in this type of operations. Therefore, unplanned transplantation may cause graft loss. Experiencing this type of significant loss is a great danger for the operation. A detailed plan means a successful process.
Analysing the hair types is an essential step for hair transplant. Therefore, the differences in hair type between races are of great importance. We should take a look at the differences first.
African-American hairline may have two-shape hairline positioning; Low hairline and medium-high hairline. While the hairline of Caucasian men is high, the hairline of Asian men is low. Therefore, if the clinics don’t use suitable tools and instruments, black curly hair and roots can easily corrupt. The thick curly nature of black bristles provides more coverage than straight bristles. This means fewer hairs are transplanted while still providing adequate coverage.
The main features of Afro hair
Since many black people tend to shape the hairline in a straight line, black men’s zigzag line is much smaller compared to Caucasian or Asian zigzag lines. Angle placement is crucial when dealing with wavy or straight hair. However, angular placement in black curly hair is not as important as the doctor should only follow the natural direction and angle of hair growth.
Afro-style hair is usually tightly curled, but there are some categories as loose curly, firmer curly or even ring-tight curly. By nature, Afro hair tends to dry out. It needs water and sebum (an oil produced by the scalp) that travels along with the hair and acts as a moisturiser. Very tight curly hair, the road is usually devious because it prevents it.
Despite these apparent physical differences, Afro-textured hair is biochemically identical to all other hair. It is made from a protein called keratin, has an outer layer called cuticle, and is trapped in a hair follicle with strong connective tissue.
Methods to apply hair transplant for Afro Hair
There are two types of method to apply hair transplant for Afro Hair.
One replaces the Follicular Unit Transfer or ribbon retrieval method. The FUE method involves a skilled surgeon removing follicular units from the donor area using a punch tool. The follicular unit is a small piece of tissue consisting of four or five hair follicles and 20 hairs. These units are then transported, like all units, into small holes created by the surgeon. The result is a natural appearance with a small amount of wound.
In contrast to this method, FUT involves the surgeon removing a skin strip from the donor site, usually from one ear to the other, from the back of the head. The strip can be between 1 and 1.5 cm, and this leaves a marked scar. The hair transplant team separates the follicles and prepares them for transplantation.
Afro-type hair, which is usually curved and has larger follicles, is difficult to remove without damage. Therefore, some clinics offer only the FUT method. Black skin also carries a higher risk for a condition called “keloid scarring”. This type of wound, which causes lumps and large wound tissue beneath the skin surface, results from the use of larger instruments when removing follicular units in the FUE procedure. The front hairline should be taken into account because it is different from the Caucasians and Asians.
As the demand from patients (in many cases, black women with traction alopecia) now turns to the FUE technique, which is a more difficult surgery, some surgeons have developed special skills to overcome the difficulties of FUE technique, and practice manual or automated FUE on patients with Afro hair. Generally, clinics do an individual test to be sure that the FUE technique is valid for the patient.
Afro hair transplant Turkey
Afro hair transplants in Turkey are often the most complex of all hair transplant procedures. Due to the natural curl of the hair follicle, ensuring maximum graft survival rates and minimising the possibility of ingrown hair is imperative in order to perform a successful procedure.
In Turkey, there are industry experts when it comes to all manner of hair transplant procedures. Our doctors have an unparalleled depth of knowledge which means they can perform an afro hair transplant Turkey with the utmost precision.
All of our procedures are performed at internationally accredited facilities, offering the highest quality of procedures found not only in Turkey but across Europe. Despite risks associated with working with afro hair, you can rest assured that our surgeons will be able to conduct meticulous afro hair transplant procedures to great effect.
How Do Afro Hair Transplants Work?
Prior to your afro hair transplant Turkey, our surgeons will ascertain the structure of your hair follicles and make a judgement as to whether FUE or the traditional FUT transplant is the best course of action for you.
On many occasions, your surgeon is likely to perform the FUE style of treatment where possible, due to the minimised risk of scarring and further complications. However, the FUT technique may be required. In this case, our surgeons will take care to ensure scarring is kept to a minimum post-procedure. This is particularly important when performing an afro hair transplant procedure as those with afro hair are often prone to inheriting Keloid scarring.
Due to the natural curl of the hair follicle in afro hair, follicle damage rates can be high, meaning the transplant can be less effective if carried out similarly to other hair types. The expert surgeons in Turkey Hair Transplant, however, are highly skilled in performing this intricate procedure and ensure that procedure success rates remain high.
Such a complex procedure must be carried out only by surgeons with knowledge and experience on the clinical characteristics of afro hair. All surgeons who perform our afro hair transplant Turkey procedures are specialists in their field.
Afro hair transplant costs
Afro hair transplants in Turkey are often the most difficult and complex of all hair transplant procedures. Because of the natural curl of the hair follicle, maintaining maximum graft survival rates and decreasing the possibility of ingrown hairs are not easy tasks. Therefore, doctors should run some tests in order to perform a successful operation.
Our clinic performs these procedures in its internationally accredited facilities, offering the highest quality of operations both in Turkey and across Europe. Despite risks associated with working with afro hair, you can be sure that our surgeons will be able to perform meticulous afro hair transplant procedures to get great results.
The price of afro hair transplant is changing according to the technique that our clinic would suggest to you. After conducting some tests on the Afro hair, our doctors decide the method that they use for transplantation. The price may be higher if your hair is much denser than the regular type. However, there is not a significant difference between prices. Therefore, you should not be worry about the prices and enjoy the high quality with our experienced crew.
Afro hair transplant results
There are some challenges for transplanting Afro type hair. Although Afro type hair transplantation can be challenging, some experienced clinics offer this application. Since the skin tone is moderate to dark, post-operative redness is often unnoticed.
Afro hair transplantation is more sensitive than hair transplantation on Caucasian or Asian hair. Because African American hair has a certain root and the curved nature of the hair follicle, however, despite the difficulties of the procedure, experience and exceptional capabilities can lead a successful hair transplant as possible. There are some similarities between black curly hair and other hair for hair restoration. Nevertheless, black curly hair has unique features that make hair transplant more difficult.
By nature of afro-type hair, follicle-containing units and hair can be larger than Caucasian and Asian hair. The curly structure changes the shape of the root. This structure is effective not only in the hair itself but also in the root under the skin. This means that; during the process of removing and planting hair follicles, the skin trauma will be greater. In addition, very small roots can be severely damaged by the follicular unit itself while the punch is being removed.
The benefits of any successful hair transplant are the same for everyone. From a repaired hairline, it has renewed confidence and happiness. However, Afro hair can look fuller than other hair types. This is related to the nature of curly hair. The newly developing curly hair gives a lush, pleasant appearance.
Besides, the best results in hair transplantation are those with a similar colour to the scalp. For example, someone with black and Afro hair, as well as someone with naturally blond hair and skin, will get good results.
FAQ – Afro Hair Transplant
Q: Which method do you recommend for Afro hair transplant?
A: The ‘gold standard’ of hair transplantation techniques is Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE method. However, it is not easy to perform FUE on Afro hair. Therefore, only the most skilled surgeons can offer the FUE method for Afro hair. Many clinics offer a test to see if you are eligible for a hair transplant.
Q: It is possible to apply hair transplantation to people with Afro hair?
A: Someone of Afro Caribbean origin can have a hair transplant. Clinics can operate as long as there is a good donor site to collect follicular units and the recipient area is healthy enough to cope with newly implanted follicular units.
Q: Is it safe to have a hair transplant for Afro hair?
A: The most critical step for this operation is to trust your surgeon and facility. Never use the hair transplant procedure if you feel uncomfortable. This is perhaps more important if you have Afro-type hair. You can get better results if you do your research well.
Female Hair Transplant Methods
Female Hair Transplant
Female hair transplantation is becoming more and more popular among women due to recently developed treatment techniques. And also, treatments became more cost-effective than ever with better prices. While the old method, namely, Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) leaves a sizable scar between the patients’ ears, the current method named Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) offers a healthier result via a minimally invasive procedure with no big scars like the FUT method.
Female Hair Transplant Costs
Nowadays, patients often opt to travel abroad for reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries since doctors abroad offer female hair transplantation with just as high quality of service and also with often better patient care (clinics often help patients with transportation, accommodation, after-care instructions and supplementations etc.)
Costs of hair transplantation differ from country to country greatly. This is mainly affected by the history of the country in hair transplantation and the economic development of the country. Turkey has been a popular destination for people seeking hair transplantation for a long time now.
Female Hair Transplant Turkey
The doctors in Turkey are offering this same hair transplantation service with the same technique as the doctors in the more developed countries offer. But the catch is, doctors in Turkey offer the procedure with a much lower price tag. Also, many patients who chose to come to Turkey for female hair transplantation get to enjoy a nice holiday in Turkey alongside their operation if they see fit.
While people often consider hair transplantation as a procedure targeted towards men, it has recently become more popular with women too. Since contemporary procedures, Follicular Unit Extraction and Direct Hair Implantation leave no scars. Also, the latter one even lets female hair transplantation patients keep some of their hair uncut. The new methods use better equipment which allows for a faster result during operation and a more precise procedure. That means, now we can transplant hair among your existing hair more densely and with a higher success rate.
The new equipment also means less worry about tissue injury during implantation. Normally operators use very tiny metal blades when opening the canals during FUE. Optionally, patients can opt-in for a canal opener made of sapphire. With a sapphire blade, it is possible to open canals with much higher precision. And with higher precision, it is possible to implant more densely between already existing hair, without doing damage to your natural hair.
As the operation is minimally invasive, female hair transplantation patients can return to their regular routine the day after the operation when their bandages are removed. At this point, only limitations on patient’s physical activity are on heavy lifting and vigorous physical exertion for a month. While intense physical exertion is not recommended, patients can stay outside (given that they wear their protective head-wear) and take walks for as long as they like.
Female Hair Transplant
There are a number of reasons why women may require a female hair transplant at our hospital in Turkey. From lack of vitamins through to excessive use of chemically-tainted beauty products, hair loss in women is becoming an increasingly common concern. Some of the causes of female hair loss include:
Thyroid problems – Elongated periods of hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism sometimes cause hair loss. This type of hair loss is often observed to be diffuse. That means rather than a certain area getting affected the entirety of the scalp suffers losses. Also, some of the medication used in treating severe forms of thyroid problems (carbimazole and propylthiouracil) is known to cause hair loss, but experts are not entirely sure about this.
Iron deficiency – Iron deficiency is becoming an increasing cause of hair loss, particularly in underweight patients or those who do not consume an iron-rich diet. Anaemia prevents oxygen from being sent through the body as efficiently as it should be and stunts hair growth which can ultimately prevent the hair from continually repairing itself.
Low In Vitamin B12 – Similar to that of an iron deficiency, a diet which is low in vitamin B12 can result in female hair loss. Vitamin B12 can aid with the production of red blood cells and the development of the nervous system, and a lack thereof can have a significant impact on natural hair growth.
Heat Damage – One of the biggest causes of hair loss in women is a result of heat or chemical damage as a result of styling. With the usage of hair straighteners, curlers and hair dryers, along with bleach and dyes, the hair follicles can become damaged and therefore begin to cause the hair to fall out. Ensuring that your hair is protected from this when styling is imperative, as once the hair follicles do begin to stop growing, the only resolution is a female hair transplant.
Excessive Involuntary Plucking (trichotillomania or trich) – Some people have an irresistible urge to pluck out hair from their scalp while some pluck their eyebrows. This aggressive plucking can leave patchy spots that may or may not heal over time. In case the damage does not heal after you get the root issue treated, transplantation is an option. Female hair transplantation is a highly effective solution to restore an appealing look for you.
Mostly Hereditary Causes
Androgenetic Alopecia or Female Pattern Hair Loss – Though men’s hairline recedes from sides of the forehead or the crown, women’s hairline usually begins receding from the top of their head in a diffuse manner. When diagnosing a patient with female pattern hair loss, it’s important to take family history into consideration as well.
Doctors often look for blood relatives with a similar story when diagnosing female pattern hair loss. Any female blood relative, especially closely related people such as a mother and daughter both having thinned hair suggests genetically induced female pattern hair loss.
Autoimmune diseases – A blood test is often made to rule out hair loss related to autoimmune diseases. In an autoimmune disease, the immune system misguidedly attacks the otherwise functioning hair follicles of the person, whether it be scalp hair or any skin carrying hair follicles.
Most patients see improvement in their autoimmune disease symptoms in a year or so, even without treatment. Though previously targeted and attacked hair follicles remain destroyed. Autoimmune elimination of follicles is often accompanied by another disease such as lupus, thyroid diseases, vitiligo or ulcerative colitis. The longer the condition is present, the less likely the affected areas regrow hair spontaneously.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome – our bodies produce hormones associated with both male and female characteristics; these hormones are called androgens. For example, during puberty, females experience a surge in testosterone which stimulates hair growth in visible areas and armpits among doing other important things. So with polycystic ovarian syndrome, the body produces these androgens. This leads to the development of some masculine features, such as excessive hair in places uncommon to women like neck, chest, abdomen, or face. Hence, this hormonal disruption sometimes causes hair on the scalp to fall out, especially near the front line. The fallen hair will not grow back on its own. But still, there are ways you can follow to stimulate new hair growth.
How To Prevent Female Hair Loss
Preventing female hair loss is entirely dependent on the initial cause. For example, if the hair loss is a result of genetics, then there may be no cure for this and a permanent solution, such as a female hair transplant, might be the most effective way to move forward. However, if the hair loss happens as a result of excessive styling or a lack of vitamin intake, then you may be able to slow down the process. If you are experiencing early signs of hair loss, you may want to consider the non-invasive PRP therapy, which helps to rejuvenate the scalp, stimulate the hair follicles and promote hair growth as a temporary solution.
For Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) you first have your blood drawn just like a usual blood examination. Second, the medical team takes the blood inside a special solution in a tube. This helps separate plasma from blood cells. Thirdly after putting your blood inside the said solution, the medical personnel places the tube inside a centrifuge.
The centrifuge spins your blood up to 8000 revolutions per minute to simulate a high gravity environment. Your red blood cells separate from your platelets, a type of cell found in the blood. That also has a major role in forming blood clots. Then the team takes the separated platelet-rich plasma in a syringe, and they apply it under your skin to promote rejuvenation.
Once you have determined the root cause of the hair loss, something which our expert team at Goldcity can help you with, then you may want to consider proceeding with a female hair transplant in Turkey, dependent on the severity of your hair loss.
Female Hair Transplant Results
Female hair transplantation results rely heavily upon the health of your donor area. Thicker fuller hair in your donor area is a major factor in getting a good result. The doctor will evaluate your donor area’s health during your consultation and plan a route accordingly.
Before The Operation
And if you happen to choose to undergo a hair transplantation procedure, you may be curious as to what will happen next. How will the operation go, what do I have to do etc. Let’s walk through the steps one by one.
The first thing we do before each and every operation is to take pictures of your hair. These pictures are necessary for canal opening operator to determine how the implanted hair will look on you. Operators look at your natural hair formation to get an idea of how your hair looked before the loss took place.
Next step after the photography is shaving. FUE patients have to get their whole head shaved. DHI patients, on the other hand, just have to get their donor and recipient zones shaven. The rest of the head does not have to be shaved thanks to DHI pens eliminating the canal opening phase. Because in DHI, the opening of the canal and the insertion of the follicle take place at the same time.
After the required zones get a nice clean shave, we take photographs once more. This time is to track your progress after the operation. Of course, we won’t put these photographs anywhere public without your explicit permission. We just take them for medical purposes.
The Actual Operation
Following these procedures, our medical team will escort you to your operation room. Before the operation, each patient gets a sedative pill, which helps relieve the anxiety and calms you down. At this point, depending on your demands, you may or may not get further sedation. After the optional sedation phase operators will begin anaesthetizing your donor area first.
After anaesthetics take effect, they will then begin inflating your scalp area with a serum solution. Operators do this to increase the distance between follicles. As a result, the micromotor punch does not cause unnecessary harm to the scalp. This solution also has adrenaline added to it. Adrenaline narrows your blood veins, thus reduces capillary bleeding. This helps with fluid retention and increases overall patient comfort.
Then following the inflation, an operator starts using the micromotor extraction device. This device generally has a punch diameter of 0.6 to 0.9 mm. The device makes tiny circular incisions around hair follicles without damaging them, and another operator harvests these follicles.
After harvest, the follicles are cleaned and sorted depending on their quality. If a follicle more than one hair sticking out of it, it’s a good quality follicle. While the harvester sorts the follicles, your recipient zones undergo the same anaesthesia procedure just like your donor area.
Generally, at this point, you take some time off to recover a bit and eat. Then, after the second anaesthesia takes effect canal operator comes and starts opening your canals. After the canals are opened, the team then starts implanting your harvested hair. Implantation is usually the longest part of the procedure. And during this phase, it’s important to lay still. Laying still is important so as to avoid any damage to your canals and to your follicles. Have patience it’s almost over now.
The natural hair does not just stick upwards when growing out. On the contrary, they have a slight incline. That’s why when opening your canals, your operator will make micro punctures with a 45-degree angle. The operator aims to create a natural-looking growth this way. After the incisions are made, they will start implanting your follicles with special tools resembling tweezers.
When the implantation is complete, the team bandages you neatly. These bandages will be removed the following day during your check-up. We will give you some further instructions after the operation and after the check-up.
FAQ
Q: When will my hair start growing back?
A: It usually takes around 3 to 6 months to start seeing results. You will most likely see the final results at around 18 months after the operation.
Q: My transplanted hair is falling off all of a sudden; what do I do?
A: This is completely normal, and you should not be worried about it. It’s called shock loss. This happens to around 1-5% of patients, almost always without long-term problems whatsoever.
Q: My head is itchy, can I scratch it?
A: If you’re in the first 7-14 days you shouldn’t scratch your head at all. Since scratching can remove your freshly implanted grafts. After this period, you can start light massages during showers; this will also help get rid of bloodiest and crusting.

This allows us to provide you with extremely precise and permanent results that align with the beard look you want to create. Our surgeons have years of experience and are hair transplant experts who have been rigorously tested and carefully selected to ensure that we are able to guarantee a high standard of quality to all of our patients. As well as creating the precise look that you want to achieve, beard transplants with Goldcity leave very minimal scarring.
Rather than FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation), the FUE method (Follicular Unit Transplantation) is our preferred method in beard transplantations. This is mainly because of the non-scarring nature of the FUE method.
The FUT Method
FUT method has lost most of its relevance with the popularisation of the FUE method. Still, FUT has its uses in certain situations; it offers a higher graft yield, is cheaper and easier to operate. It was popular during the last century and had been in practice ever since. There are still high-quality FUT clinics active, but it has seen a tremendous drop in popularity, especially among younger physicians. That is mostly because most patients choose not to get that long linear scar between their ears. An experienced physician can give you satisfying results with the FUT method. A skilled doctor will surely make that scar thinner and discreet in a way that it becomes unnoticeable when your hair grows longer.

Beard Transplant Turkey
Turkey is becoming a more and more popular destination for medical tourism with each year passing. Health services in Turkey, such as Goldcity hair transplantation health services, are offering beard and hair transplantations in state of the high-quality art facilities with accredited doctors behind clinics. These clinics offer these services with quality matching clinics in developed countries. Lots of doctors and investors alike saw potential Turkey has and together, they built clinics that will relieve even the most anxious patient. And with the help of our educated medical staff, Turkey is a shooting star in medical tourism.
The main reason why Turkey became so popular among people seeking hair transplantation is the price tag on procedures. Beard transplantation costs in Turkey are less than half of the costs in most developed countries. While this may sound discouraging at first, the difference is a mere result of exchange rates between different countries. So in practice, prices are set proportionately to both sets of countries’ buying power.
Beard Transplant Operation
Let’s talk about what to expect when undergoing a beard transplantation operation. Before anything takes place, a photographer takes pictures of your recipient zones from different angles. This is done to help the operator opening your canals as the operator needs a reference point to create insertion points. The operator considers the natural look and angle of the existing hair when opening your beard transplantation canals.
After the photoshoot is complete, our medical team will take you to the shaving room and give you a nice clean shave. Oftentimes this part is followed by another photoshoot so as to track your progress after the operation. Do not worry; these photographs are taken solely for medical reasons, and no one that doesn’t have to see them will see them. We will not post, publish or share your images without your explicit permission.
Our team will ask for pictures approximately a few weeks after the operation and once more a couple of months later to track your progress.
The Operation In A Nutshell
Now that the groundwork for the operation is complete, the medical staff will take you in the operation room. Inside the room, the operators will give you a sedative pill which will keep your anxiety levels low and relax you throughout the operation. Some patients choose to get further sedation with the presence of an anesthesiologist. After you take your pill and you slip into your gown the team will make you lie down with face down.
Now, the next bit is the local anaesthesia. The medical team will draw a line with a marker around the back of the scalp, and they will inject anaesthesia under marked spots. After the anaesthesia is complete and the scalp skin is completely numb, the team will move on to inflation phase.
This next bit called inflation includes injection of a serum solution under donor areas, this will inflate the skin containing follicles to be harvested and make the extraction easier. An inflated scalp means more distance between follicles. Thus, less unnecessary damage done to your skin.
Also, this serum solution contains small amounts of adrenaline, our fight or flight hormone. The reason why we include adrenaline is that adrenaline acts as a vein suppressor, meaning it will make your veins narrower for a while. This helps reduce bleeding and in turn, fluid retention throughout the operation. This way, patients experience less discomfort and a smaller drop in blood pressure is ensured.
When both processes are complete, our next step is extraction. An operator with a micromotor starts making tiny holes with a very small punch, usually .6 or .9 centimetres in diameter. Since you are anesthetised at this point, you feel absolutely no pain. While the extraction takes place, another medical staff will begin the “harvest” of follicles. During this procedure, the team member will pluck out the follicles to be implanted, and another member will clean and sort the follicles.
The follicles are sorted according to their quality. “How is the quality determined?” you might ask. Well, not every follicle has a single hair sticking out of it, some follicles grow out two, three, and in rare cases even four separate hairs. The follicles containing multiple hairs will be implanted to areas requiring more density.
After the harvest and sorting are done, the team will begin the local anaesthesia procedure once more, this time for the recipient area. A similar line will be drawn around your beard for reference, and again, anaesthesia will be administered under the skin along the drawn line.
Following the second anaesthesia, an operator commences the opening of canals, the points of insertion. In order to reach a desirable look, operators open canals with a 40-45 degree angle. This provides the groundwork for natural-looking implanted hair.
Afterwards, multiple operators will start the insertion of follicles after this point onwards. This phase is usually the longest one as operators will plug follicles inside the canals one by one. They use special tools resembling a tweezer. After this lengthy process comes to an end, the team will raise you from your bed and start bandaging you.
Finally, after your bandaging, a translator will come to explain to you what you should or shouldn’t do, how to sleep during your first week, how to take your medications what to avoid (alcohol, tobacco, physical exertion etc.) After the briefing by the translator, we send you to your hotel with our transport.
Beard Transplant Results
Supplementations and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) also have an impact upon your transplanted beard health. Multivitamin and biotin supplementation can help improve blood circulation and provide much-needed nutrition for your beard hair. PRP can also benefit your transplanted hair when injected under the skin; it rejuvenates the surrounding tissue and promotes cell growth. A PRP injection is effective for around 3-6 months. So we often repeat PRP treatment a few times every 3-6 months.
After the operation, the success rate of follicles depends on many factors. There are things a patient should avoid. The main culprit that damages the process early on is trauma. That is impacts against your freshly implanted follicles. During your first 7-10 days, your body is trying to adjust to the altered tissue.
However, during this period even a slight graze carries a risk of plucking out the follicle. Many patients hit their head on top of the transport vehicle’s door frame at the upper part right after the operation. This is partly due to anaesthesia, causing an altered perception of space. So watch your head out there and stay safe.
Other important culprits to watch out for include tobacco products and alcoholic beverages. Nicotine restricts the much-needed blood flow to the scalp and alcohol causes swelling and dehydration, both of which are pretty undesirable after such an operation.
Patients also cannot engage in excessive physical exertion for at least a month. Mainly due to protect the follicles from sudden spikes in blood pressure. Such fluctuations pose a risk of dismembering the delicate follicles from their place.
Alongside the risks relating to blood pressure, heavy physical exertion will also make you sweat. This will damage your grafts and elongate the recovery process.
Also, do not expose your skin to direct sunlight for long periods or stay out without cover during rain. Sunlight may cause a risk of excessive drying on your scalp; it is important that your skin stays hydrated. As with rain, the sensitive follicles may be harmed by high-velocity raindrops.
Also do not go in any steam bath like a sauna, Turkish Hamam or spa. Your skin is likely to be sensitive for a while; high temperatures in these environments pose a great risk of harming your skin.
Beard Transplantation Advantages
Before beard transplantation, during your consultation, you get to choose what kind of beard formation you want, just like picking a model from a barber’s catalogue. You can just tell the doctor where you want your new beard line, and the doctor can customise according to your needs.
Another important advantage of beard transplantation is, it’s almost completely pain-free. Also, with modern medicine optimising the process the recovery period is rather short, you may experience some redness and swelling the first two days, but after the second night, you should be virtually pain-free.
Also after the transplanted beard hair settles and starts growing you can shave it however you like, it is up to you to give it some styling according to your taste.
Beard Transplantation Disadvantages
Of course, such a procedure comes with a few setbacks. But thanks to the cutting edge technology and procedure optimisation, we have minimised these negative aspects.
First and foremost beard transplantation disadvantage is the cost. It’s only fair that such an operation is costly. The operation requires multiple operators, and there’s also the after-care with multiple medications. Though this aspect about the cost is relatively unfelt when having this operation in Turkey. Pricing is Turkey is on average less than half of the price you would get in the US. The major expense alongside the operation is flight tickets, especially if you happen to live overseas.
Another disadvantage is related to the fact that your implanted hair comes from your own skin. For the operation, you should have some of your grafts taken from your scalp, until recently this meant a long and nasty linear scar between your ears. The FUE method eliminates this scarring aspect. Since we take grafts homogeneously from different parts of your scalp skin, we preserve your natural look.
Disadvantages After The Beard transplantation Process
Also, many patients experience something called shock loss. When the implanted hair falls off completely or partially at around 2-3 weeks mark, we call these phenomena a shock loss. This is a natural response to the trauma caused by the operation. Do not worry, this is a normal part of the process, and your implanted beard hair will surely make a comeback.
Speaking of trauma, this operation sometimes causes some mild bruising and swelling. Still, this does not apply to each and every patient. Especially patients with sensitive skin and fair complexion are likely to experience mild discomfort after the operation. This usually lasts no more than a couple of days. The skin may temporarily become tender and sensitive around donor and recipient areas. The discomfort usually takes no longer than 5-7 days, given that you use all the medication given to you.
Another disadvantage is that responsibilities that are undergoing an operation bring alongside. Since this operation will require some rest for better results, you should take at least two days off. Your responsibilities, like work or school, may put a strain on you during this time. Also, the transplanted area will require special care for a while. For example, you cannot get the recipient area wet for at least 5 days after the operation.
There may be some pain after the anaesthesia wears off. Though, the pain will greatly decrease, even, almost go away completely after the first night. While you can usually return to work in a week, this may not be possible for some work lines.
If your profession includes lifting heavy loads, you may want to ask your employer to reposition you temporarily. The same thing goes for professions which include staying under the sun for long periods of time
FAQ – Beard Hair Transplant Turkey
Q: When will I begin seeing the results?
A: First results start showing at around 3 months mark, but final results usually require a year and a half.
Q: Why do I have crusting on my face?
A: Crusting is a normal part of the process; you can do light massages to remove it after the first week. Just remember not to use your nails or any sharp object, your fingertips are just enough for this job.
Q: I also have hair loss, can I arrange an operation where I get implantations for both areas?
A: Yes, this is a fairly common scenario; many patients with mild hair loss also get hair transplantations. Talk about two birds with one stone.
Q: How long will the operation take?
A: Depending on the number of grafts targeted it may range from 4 hours if it only includes beard transplantation to 8 hours if it also includes hair transplantation
Q: What is the recovery time after the operation, how long until I can start working again?
A: Recovery usually takes 3-5 days, this much will be enough to return to work, if it is not a physically burdening job of course.
Q: Does the operation takes place with general anaesthesia or just local anaesthesia?
A: Local anaesthetics are often sufficient for most people. If you wish, you can opt-in for sedation during your operation.
Q: Can I get a Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment for my beard area?
A: Yes, just like regular hair transplantations, you may get PRP treatments as a catalyst for growth and prosperity.
Q: I heard that patients couldn’t use alcohol for a while after treatment, what about before?
A: Do not consume any alcohol or recreational substances at least 24 prior to your surgery.
Q: I have medication that I am constantly using, should I stop taking it? What if I cannot afford to stop taking it?
A: Please inform the doctor about this situation. More often than not, many medications don’t interfere with the process at all. But for example, if you’re using any kind of blood thinner (like aspirin) surely let our doctor know. This may have a negative impact on your operation via increasing bleeding. Please make sure to inform the doctor before the operation. It’s always safer to inform the doctor about these matters.
Biofibre Hair Transplant Methods
Biofibre Hair Transplant
Hair loss and baldness are some of the most common issues among men and women today. Throughout history, humanity has tried different methods for curing baldness. But only one among all the other techniques was natural, successful and permanent. This method was the hair transplant operation.
But there are still some people who are not suitable for the hair transplant operation. This may be due to lack of enough hair to be extracted from the donor area, or the target area may be too large. That is precisely why the biofibre hair transplant was created. In our article, we will talk about the biofibre hair implant in detail.
What Is Biofibre Technology?
Frankly, bio fibres are high technology synthetic fibres designed to be a substitute for the human hair. It may sound similar to wigs or hair patches, but it is a totally different deal. These bio fibres are designed for being implanted into the scalp or wherever the hair implant is required. They are available in different colours and shapes, and they are much easier to shape than natural human hair.
For some people, the word ‘’synthetic’’ may sound uncomfortable at the beginning because doctors implant these bio fibres into their scalps. But there is no need to worry because these bio fibres are made from materials that are %100 compatible with human skin.
Synthetic hair transplant first became popular in the 1970s. Then later in the 1980s, some clinics claimed that it was an unnatural and risky operation. Maybe they were right back then, but the technology of these biofibre hair strands has developed so much in our decade. The biocompatibility is extremely high, and the risk of having infections is almost the same as having infections by a real hair transplant.
They are called bio fibres because of the biologically compatible structure that they have. If you are afraid of having allergic reactions, the clinic doctors make a test before the operation to check the patient’s compatibility for the biofibre hair implant operation.
Hair Transplant or the Biofibre Hair Implant, Which One Is Better?
First of all, the biofibre hair implant (synthetic hair transplant) is an alternative to the hair transplant operation. Hair transplant is performed by extracting the hair follicles in grafts from the donor area and then implanting them into the target area.
If you have enough hair follicles in the donor area, then your doctor will recommend you to have a healthy hair transplant. But if you do not have enough hair in the donor area, performing a hair transplant will not yield positive results.
Sometimes finding enough hair grafts to be extracted and implanted into the donor area may be a difficult task to perform. Especially if you are bald and you want to have full hair on top of your head. In that case, the biofibre hair implant is a miraculous alternative solution. Because it allows you to choose the length (15-30-45 cm) and the colour (from 14 different colours including white) of the biofibre hair, this would not be possible with a regular hair transplant operation.
It is almost impossible to tell the difference between the synthetic biofibre hair strands and authentic hair. It does not only look the same as the real hair, but it also feels the same way when you touch it with your hands.
Another plus of the biofibre hair implant is the required time for achieving the desired visual results. This period could last about a year for the hair transplant operation, whereas the biofibre hair implant operation takes approximately 20 to 30 days before the implanted hair gains a stable form.
The Advantages of the Biofibre Hair Implant
Biofibre hair implant may be an alternative to the real hair transplant operation. But this does not mean that it lacks its own advantages. For instance, the biofibre hair strands do not grow. Therefore, you will not need to get a haircut. Besides, the advanced technology of these synthetic hair strands makes them quite easy to wash and shape.
Biofibre hair is also available in 14 colours, including white. So, you do not need to worry about dying your hair after the biofibre hair implant operation because you can choose the colour that matches your hair or just any other that you prefer. And the colour of the biofibre hairs does not fade over the years.
Choosing the style and shape of the biofibre hair strands is another possibility with this method. Whether you want your hair to be straight, curly, wavy or another form, you can choose. This would not be possible with the usual hair transplant operation. Because in a hair transplant operation, the hair follicles from the donor area would keep growing in the same form after the transplant operation is completed.
You can also choose the length of the biofibre hair strands(15-30-45 cm options are available). The available lengths of the biofibre hair strands make this hair implant operation suitable for both men and women.
How Is The Biofibre Hair Transplant Done?
Qualified doctors in the hair clinics perform the biofibre hair transplant operations. The first step is the planning of the desired result. This step is easier than it is with the real hair transplant operation.
The clinic’s employees make all the necessary tests and then apply anaesthesia. Anaesthesia makes the operation painless for the patient. Unless there is a reason that prevents it, the patient can choose local, topical or general anaesthesia.
After the preparations are completed, and the patient is ready for the biofibre hair implant operation, the doctor then implants the bio fibres into the scalp of the patient. The biofibre hair strands are implanted one by one. The amount of hair that will be implanted at the end of the operation depends on the final result that the patient desires to have. But generally, 2.500 or 3000 biofibre hair strands will be enough for a successful process.
What To Do After The Biofibre Hair Implant Operation?
The patient can return to his/her daily life after the biofibre hair implant operation. All you need to do is protecting your scalp from traumas or impacts. A couple of days after the operation, you may experience very small scabs forming on your scalp. You should not scratch these scabs. Because doing that may undermine the success of the operation by making you lose some of the implanted bio fibres.
In general, the biofibre hair implant operation does not have any major after-effects. Experts consider this as a safe operation when the qualified health professionals take the necessary measures. However, if you notice any irregular or extreme after effects, do not hesitate to contact your clinic.
The bio fibres used in this hair implant operation are totally compatible with the biological features of the human skin. For this reason, the implanted biofibre hair will not cause any complications because the bio fibres are made of artificial materials.
How Long Does The Biofibre Hair Last?
Biofibre hair strands are made of tender yet solid materials. They have to be tender for making it easier to shape and also strong so that they can last for long years. Biofibre hair requires biofibre hair care once in a while. They may be artificial and not growing, but they need hair care too. Therefore it can be smart to schedule your biofibre hair care.
If you attend your biofibre hair appropriately and take the necessary precautions to preserve them, they should last you for about 6 to 8 years. This is an incredible amount of time considering the possibility that you can always renew your biofibre hair implant whenever you feel like it is necessary.
Who Can Have Biofibre Hair Implant?
It is normal to lose 50-100 hair strands every day. However, if you are losing more than this amount, you may be suffering from hair loss. That may even turn into baldness in future. There are many ways to fight hair loss or baldness. But none of them can offer the permanence and the naturality of a hair transplant operation.
Unfortunately, though, some people are unable to receive a hair transplant operation. This makes the biofibre hair implant (synthetic hair transplant) operation a very efficient alternative for these people.
Simply, any man or woman over the age of 18 can have biofibre hair implant. But the vast majority of the people who prefer it over the hair transplant operation are the people who are unable to have a hair transplant. There may be several reasons preventing these people from having an authentic hair transplant. These reasons include but are not limited to:
- Lack of enough hair in the donor area
- Choosing a very large surface for the hair transplant
- Complete baldness (Because it requires a lot of grafts for implanting)
- Having alopecia in the donor area.
If you are not suitable for a hair transplant operation for any of the reasons above, you are a possible candidate for biofibre hair implant.

Is Hair Transplant a Permanent Solution?
When considering hair loss treatment options, one question that often comes to mind is whether hair transplant is a permanent solution. The answer to this question is a resounding yes. Hair transplant is indeed a permanent solution for hair loss.
Hair transplant involves the surgical removal of hair follicles from a donor area, typically the back or sides of the head, and their transplantation to the areas experiencing hair loss. These transplanted hair follicles are genetically resistant to the hormone responsible for hair loss, known as DHT (dihydrotestosterone). As a result, once they are successfully transplanted, the hair follicles continue to grow naturally and permanently.
Who Is a Suitable Candidate for Hair Transplant?
A hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves removing hair follicles from one part of the body, known as the donor area, and transplanting them to the bald or thinning areas of the scalp. While hair transplant can be a great solution for many individuals experiencing hair loss, not everyone is a suitable candidate for this procedure.
Generally, suitable candidates for hair transplant are individuals who have:
- Significant hair loss: Hair transplant is most effective for individuals who have experienced significant hair loss, such as male pattern baldness or thinning hair on the crown of the head.
- Adequate donor hair: The success of a hair transplant relies on having enough healthy hair follicles available for transplantation. Suitable candidates should have an adequate supply of donor hair in the back or sides of their scalp.
- Good overall health: Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that requires anesthesia. Suitable candidates should be in good overall health and able to tolerate the procedure.
What Is the Recovery Time After Hair Transplant?
The recovery time after a hair transplant procedure varies from person to person. Generally, it takes about 7 to 10 days for the initial healing process to occur. During this time, the scalp may be sensitive, and there may be some redness and scabbing in the recipient area.
After the initial healing period, the transplanted hair follicles enter a resting phase and begin to shed. This is a normal part of the hair transplant process and should not cause concern. New hair growth typically starts to appear within 2 to 3 months after the procedure.
Full recovery and optimal results from a hair transplant can take up to 12 months. During this time, the transplanted hair follicles gradually establish themselves and continue to grow. It’s important to follow the post-operative instructions provided by the hair transplant clinic to ensure proper healing and maximize the success of the procedure.
In conclusion, the duration of a hair transplant procedure in Turkey can range from 4 to 8 hours, depending on various factors. The recovery time after the procedure can take around 7 to 10 days for initial healing and up to 12 months for full recovery and optimal results. By choosing a reputable hair transplant clinic in Turkey, patients can benefit from skilled surgeons and experienced medical teams who prioritize both efficiency and quality in their procedures.
Are There Any Risks or Side Effects of Hair Transplant?
When considering a hair transplant, it is natural to have concerns about potential risks and side effects. However, when performed by a qualified and experienced surgeon, hair transplant procedures are generally safe and well-tolerated. It is important to remember that like any surgical procedure, there are some risks involved, but these are typically minimal and rare.
The most common side effects of a hair transplant include temporary swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the donor and recipient areas. These side effects usually subside within a few days or weeks. In some cases, patients may experience mild itching or numbness in the treated areas, but these are also temporary and resolve on their own.
How Much Does a Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey?
Turkey has become a popular destination for hair transplant procedures due to its high-quality clinics and more affordable prices compared to other countries. The cost of a hair transplant in Turkey can vary depending on various factors such as the extent of hair loss, the technique used, and the clinic’s reputation.
On average, the cost of a hair transplant in Turkey ranges from approximately $2,000 to $5,000. However, it is important to note that these prices are estimated and can vary significantly depending on individual cases and the clinic chosen. It is recommended to consult with multiple clinics and discuss your specific needs to get an accurate cost estimate.
When considering the cost of a hair transplant in Turkey, it is essential to also consider the quality of the procedure and the expertise of the surgeon. While cost is an important factor, it should not be the sole determining factor. Choosing a reputable clinic with experienced surgeons is crucial to ensure a successful and satisfactory outcome.
Is Hair Transplant Painful?
If you are considering a hair transplant in Turkey, one of the most common questions you may have is whether the procedure is painful. The good news is that hair transplant procedures are typically performed under local anesthesia, which means you will not feel any pain during the surgery. However, it is normal to experience some discomfort or mild pain after the procedure, which can be managed with pain medications prescribed by your doctor.
Can I Wear a Hat After Hair Transplant?
After a hair transplant, it is generally recommended to avoid wearing hats or any headwear that may rub against the newly transplanted hair or put pressure on the grafts. This is because the transplanted hair follicles are delicate and need time to settle and heal properly.
However, if you need to wear a hat for protection against the sun or other environmental factors, it is important to choose a loose-fitting hat made of breathable materials. Avoid hats that are tight or have rough surfaces that can cause friction or irritation to the scalp. It is also advisable to wait until the healing process is well underway before wearing a hat, typically after the first week or as advised by your surgeon.
Remember to consult with your hair transplant surgeon for specific instructions regarding wearing hats after the procedure. They will be able to provide guidance based on your individual case and ensure the best possible outcome for your hair transplant.
Will the Transplanted Hair Look Natural?
One of the main concerns for individuals considering a hair transplant is whether the transplanted hair will look natural. The goal of a hair transplant procedure is to create a natural-looking hairline and restore hair density in areas of thinning or balding. With advancements in technology and techniques, hair transplants have become increasingly successful in achieving natural-looking results.
The transplanted hair is typically taken from the donor area, which is usually the back or sides of the head, where the hair is genetically resistant to balding. These hair follicles are then carefully transplanted into the recipient area, following the natural direction and pattern of hair growth. Over time, the transplanted hair will grow and blend in with the existing hair, resulting in a natural appearance.
It is important to choose a reputable and experienced hair transplant surgeon to ensure the best possible outcome. They will have the expertise and skill to create a natural-looking hairline and ensure the transplanted hair matches your existing hair in terms of texture, thickness, and color.
What if I Don't Have Sufficient Donor Hair?
Not having sufficient donor hair is a common concern for individuals considering a hair transplant. However, advancements in hair transplant techniques have made it possible to address this issue. If you don’t have enough donor hair on your scalp, your surgeon may explore alternative donor areas such as the beard or body hair.
During a consultation with a hair transplant specialist, they will assess the availability of donor hair and discuss the options that best suit your specific situation. It is important to note that the success of a hair transplant procedure depends on various factors, including the quality and quantity of available donor hair.
- If you don’t have sufficient donor hair on your scalp, alternative donor areas such as the beard or body hair can be used.
- Your surgeon will assess the availability of donor hair and discuss the options that best suit your specific situation.
- It is important to have realistic expectations and understand that the success of a hair transplant procedure depends on various factors.

Turkey has become a popular destination for hair transplant procedures due to its affordable prices and high-quality medical facilities. However, with so many clinics to choose from, it can be overwhelming to make a decision. Here are some factors to consider when selecting a hair transplant clinic in Turkey:

How Does Hair Transplant Work?
Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves the transfer of hair follicles from a donor area to a recipient area. The donor area is usually the back or sides of the scalp, where the hair is genetically resistant to balding. The recipient area is the bald or thinning area where the hair is transplanted to restore a fuller and natural-looking hairline.
There are two main techniques used in hair transplant procedures: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). FUE involves the extraction of individual hair follicles using a specialized tool, while FUT involves the removal of a strip of scalp containing hair follicles, which is then dissected into individual grafts for transplantation.
After the hair transplant procedure, it is normal for the transplanted hair to fall out within a few weeks. This is known as “shock loss” and is a temporary phase. The transplanted hair follicles will then gradually start to grow new hair within a few months. It is important to follow the post-operative instructions provided by the surgeon to ensure optimal results.
In conclusion, hair transplant in Turkey is a popular choice for individuals seeking to restore their hairline. The success rate of these procedures is generally high, thanks to the expertise of the surgeons and the use of advanced techniques. Understanding how hair transplant works can help individuals make informed decisions about undergoing the procedure.
What Are the Different Hair Transplant Techniques?
There are several different hair transplant techniques available today, each with its own advantages and considerations. One commonly used technique is follicular unit transplantation (FUT), also known as strip harvesting. This technique involves the removal of a strip of scalp from the donor area, which is then dissected into individual hair follicles for transplantation.
Another popular technique is follicular unit extraction (FUE), where individual hair follicles are directly extracted from the donor area using a specialized punch tool. FUE is a minimally invasive procedure that leaves no linear scar and allows for quicker recovery compared to FUT.
Both FUT and FUE techniques can achieve excellent results, and the choice between them depends on factors such as the patient’s hair loss pattern, donor hair availability, and personal preferences. It is important to consult with a qualified hair transplant surgeon to determine the most suitable technique for your specific needs.
Overall, hair transplant techniques have advanced significantly in recent years, making the procedure more effective and natural-looking than ever before. By choosing a reputable hair transplant clinic, such as those in Turkey, you can expect outstanding results and a long-lasting solution to your hair loss concerns.

During the procedure, hair follicles are harvested from the donor area, typically the back or sides of the scalp, and then carefully transplanted into the recipient area where hair is thinning or balding. The surgeon and their team meticulously place each graft to ensure natural-looking results.
It’s important to note that the duration of the hair transplant procedure does not necessarily indicate the quality or effectiveness of the treatment. Skilled surgeons and experienced medical teams in hair transplant clinics in Turkey are able to perform the procedure efficiently while maintaining excellent results.
How Many Sessions Are Required for a Hair Transplant?
When it comes to the number of sessions required for a hair transplant, it depends on various factors such as the extent of hair loss, the desired density, and the donor area availability. Generally, a single session can last several hours and may involve the transplantation of hundreds or even thousands of grafts. However, for individuals with extensive hair loss or those aiming for a higher density, multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve the desired results. It is best to consult with a qualified hair transplant surgeon who can assess your specific case and provide you with a personalized treatment plan.
What Precautions Should I Take Before and After Hair Transplant?
When considering a hair transplant, it is important to take certain precautions both before and after the procedure to ensure the best possible results. Before the hair transplant, it is advisable to consult with a qualified surgeon who specializes in hair restoration. This will help you understand the procedure, what to expect, and any specific precautions you may need to take based on your individual circumstances.
Before the hair transplant surgery, it is important to disclose any medications you are currently taking, as some medications may interfere with the procedure or the healing process. It is also recommended to avoid smoking and alcohol consumption for a few weeks prior to the surgery, as these can hinder the body’s ability to heal properly.
After the hair transplant, it is crucial to follow the post-operative instructions provided by your surgeon. This may include avoiding strenuous activities, keeping the scalp clean and dry, and taking any prescribed medications. It is also important to protect the newly transplanted hair from direct sunlight and avoid wearing tight hats or headbands that may put pressure on the grafts.
By taking these precautions before and after the hair transplant, you can optimize the chances of successful graft survival and promote a smooth recovery process.
When Can I Start Exercising After Hair Transplant?
One of the frequently asked questions about hair transplant is when can a person start exercising after the procedure. It is important to allow your body enough time to heal and recover before engaging in any strenuous physical activities. The exact time frame may vary depending on the individual and the specific details of the hair transplant procedure.
Generally, it is recommended to avoid any vigorous exercise or activities that may cause sweating for at least the first week after the hair transplant. This is to minimize the risk of infection and ensure proper healing of the transplanted hair follicles. However, it is best to consult with your hair transplant surgeon for personalized advice based on your specific situation.
Can I Style and Cut my Hair After Transplant?
One of the most common questions people have after undergoing a hair transplant is whether they can style and cut their hair. The good news is that yes, you can style and cut your hair after a hair transplant. However, it is important to follow the post-operative instructions provided by your surgeon to ensure proper healing and optimal results.
After a hair transplant, it is recommended to wait for a certain period of time before styling or cutting your hair. This is to allow the newly transplanted hair follicles to properly take root and heal. Your surgeon will provide specific guidelines on when it is safe to start styling and cutting your hair.
Are Hair Transplants Suitable for Women?
When it comes to hair transplants, many people often wonder if they are suitable for women. The answer is yes, hair transplants can be a viable option for women who are experiencing hair loss or thinning. While hair loss in women may be less common than in men, it can still be a significant concern for those who are affected.
Women who are considering a hair transplant should consult with a qualified and experienced hair transplant surgeon who specializes in treating female hair loss. The surgeon will assess the individual’s specific situation and determine if they are a suitable candidate for the procedure.
It’s important to note that the causes of hair loss in women can differ from those in men. Female pattern hair loss, hormonal imbalances, and medical conditions can all contribute to hair loss in women. Therefore, a thorough evaluation is necessary to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment plan.
